Learndash plugin offers basic skeleton for course, lesson and topic to setup your course-ware.

First, you need to download the plugin from the Wbcom Designs My Account section (which will be a zip file). Next, you need to go to WordPress admin area and visit Plugins ยป Add New page.
After that, click on the Upload Plugin button on top of the page.

This will bring you to the plugin upload page. Here you need to click on the choose file button and select the plugin file you downloaded earlier to your computer.
After you have selected the file, you need to click on the install now button.
WordPress will now upload the plugin file from your computer and install it for you. You will see a success message like this after the installation is finished.
Once installed, you need to click on the Activate Plugin link to start using the plugin.

After plugin activation it will create My Dashboard page which will be common for all roles, admin, instructor, group leader and student.
You can include it inside menu using standard WordPress process to add menu items inside existing menus using Appearance >> Menus
Instructors roles are not mandatory for the plugin, you can upgrade existing user as Instructors or create a new user as Instructors
a. Add new user as Instructor role or update existing via editing user
b. Assign Course/ Lesson/ Topic to Instructors
Quick edits will allow to assign Instructors for existing course.
c. Set Commission for Instructors
You can easily set % amount for commission distribution. If you do not have to distribute it, you can keep it zero.
d. Enable Widgets for dashboard
If you are not willing to use Instructor roles , you can keep Instructor specific widgets disabled.
